When considering the art and effectiveness of teaching, one realises that teaching and learning are processes that reach well beyond the delivery of content.

For learning to take place, we must consider the role that relationships and trust play. Perceptions of institutional and facilitator credibility, as well as the belief that, with appropriate support, the participant will be able to realise intended outcomes play a key part.

How do we use an LMS to assist us to teach effectively, create context, a sense of value and support, and drive participants to complete courses? As indicated in the image above, an LMS may be used as a resource repository in support of class teaching, or be a vehicle for lesson delivery online in blended and online scenarios.
