Assignment

You are required to submit a document that describes a video or videos that you have produced.

  • The document will be reviewed and marked
  • The linked videos will be reviewed and marked.
  • The videos must remain accessible on YouTube until your certificates are processed.

Topic Selection

Prepare and present a structured full delivery of three of the ten lessons presented in this course.

  • Record yourself presenting the lessons in full. Each lesson you record as a separate video.
  • Upload the lesson videos to YouTube, and include the links to the videos in your assignment document.
  • Note that for this video you ideally need to have an audience of a minimum of 4 people so you can have interaction and questions.

Include in the assignment document:

  • State your assumptions and approaches regarding sound and picture quality, as well as comment on the flow of your video.
  • Discuss what you aimed to achieve and specify the target audience for your video.
  • You must include a working link to the video that you have produced and made available on your YouTube channel.

Preparing for video link to be included in the document:

  • Use Your Mobile Device Camera, or any other recording system to record and edit your lesson video.
  • Setup and Use your own YouTube Channel to host, manage and stream the videos. Include the video links in a document once uploaded to YouTube and ensure the video privacy settings will allow a marker to view your videos.
  • Save your document as a PDF and upload as your DIM-A01 assignment submission.

Length of Document: No more than 3 pages, no less than 1 page.

Name of Document: Please include yourName in your document filename.

  • Example – Jack Smith.pdf or  Themba Maduma.doc

Length of Video: Approximately 15 minutes (Depends on complexity of content and interactions).

Do not upload the videos to the Online Learning Platform. Only your document must be uploaded as the assignment. Markers will use links provided in the document to access your videos on YouTube.

The assessment of each video (50 Marks) will consider:

  • Audio clarity of video – must be able to hear the presentation clearly (5)
  • Visual clarity of video – must be able to see what presenter is doing, or presenting (5)
  • Discussion presented in your document – Approach to the Video: Topic Selection, Assumptions, Objectives and Audience (10)
  • Presentation Style in your video – consider eye contact, audience engagement, handling of questions, clarifying misunderstanding etc. (10)
  • Subject Matter Coverage in your video– How well you present and cover the content. (20
